Updated 27th January, 2009Brisbane Photography's "Hands Off" ApproachWe are currently testing Hands Off moderation to posts on the BP forums. We believe the majority of users are mature enough to handle discussions without the need to flame/insult other users. Should you believe a post or thread should be looked at by a member of BP's admin, please submit your concern using the "Report this post" button (

) which is found at the bottom right of each post.
Admin users will only be stepping in if the following occurs:- Insulting / Vulgar / Flaming post occur between users/businesses/companies
- SPAM - unsolicited posts trying to sell products
- Copyright material is posted incorrectly
Board-wide Rules and Regulations1. Posts are to be made in a relevant forum.
- Users are asked to read the forum descriptions before posting.
- Your post may be moved if it is deemed to be in the wrong area.
- Where and What to Buy questions should be posted in the
Trading Post Forum2. Users should post in a way that is respectful of other users.
- Flaming or abusing users in any way will not be tolerated and will lead to a warning.
3. If members note an issue which contravenes something in these guidelines they are welcome to Report the post (

4. Users should remember this board is aimed at a general audience.
- Posting generally offensive text, images, links, etc. will not be tolerated and will lead to a warning.
5. Users are asked to respect the copyright of other users, sites, media, etc.
- Users may not embed images or quote media which they are not the copyright holder. The exception to this is where the user has contacted BP Administration indicating why they have permission to post others' media. If you wish to share copyrighted material, please supply the link for people to follow.
6. Users should NOT quote images already in the thread.
- When quoting another user, take out the [IMG] tags before submitting the post.
7. Users should respect the bandwidth of other users and sites.
- The use of image tags pointing to data stored on third party systems for which the user has not received permission to link to may be removed.
8. Users should use an appropriate, specific, descriptive title when posting a new topic.
- Examples of good titles include; “How do I convert to 8-Bit”, “I’m having problems with Photoshop Filters”, etc.
- Examples of bad titles include; “Help me!”, “My bug!”, "What to Buy?", “I’ve got a question!”, etc.
9. Spam is not tolerated here under any circumstance. This includes offering company services, equipment and supplies, chain letters, etc. Users posting spam will have their post removed without warning.
10. Do not argue with a moderator's decision. In most cases, the mods have already discussed the post together and is a joint decision. Should you disagree you can PM the moderator with an explanation if one hasn't been PM'd to you already.
Business / Product / Course AdvertisingA user who is affiliated with a business/product or service
must make it clear in their post or their signature.
BrisbanePhotography allows users to freely advertise their products/services as long as it is not decietful and users are made fully aware of their intentions (advertising something that they are in some way affiliated).
Work & Services Forum- This area should only be for genuine Work & Services threads.
- No replies will be allowed after a new topic has been posted.
- Original posters should specify exactly what they want and means of contact (PM or e-mail).
- New users may have their post removed if they are not going to participate in the forums and using the board as spam advertising.
Commision Based Ads in Work & ServicesWhen advertising commision based work, users must specify the following:
- Exactly what the commission is. (Per Print / Job etc)
- How the commission is recorded. (If its a commission only, the actual commission has to be specified)
Posting Images- Please keep images below 200kb
- Recommended posting size is 800 pixels on the longest edge
- MAX HEIGHT of 800 pixels on Portrait images
- MAX WIDTH of 1024 pixels on Landscapes images
- Please try not to post images smaller then 800 pixels as it is hard to provide good Constructive Criticism
- Try not to post more then 3 images per post. Anymore then 5 images and you may find some images removed by admin
